As much as I HATE seeing animals dressed up in clothes I don't have a problem with trying to keep them warm and dry. A GSD coat take forever to dry so I've decided to invest in some raincoats for my girls. Anyone got any comments adv about what and where to buy from? I don't want anything that won't do the job well i.e. keep the girls dry!

ColCol. The Dryz a bone raincoat is about the best you can get. It is an oilskin one lined. I did have one that I used for Kayla but only sold it a short time ago. I do have one of another brand here that is unused if you want to have a look at it. Says it is large but I think it would fit Shelby rather than Molly.

I too thought the same as you. That was until I got the idea from my old gal that she did not like to go outside in the rain and the cold ( especially at night ) to do what all doggies need to do. Thanks to Denise and Liz (Sheba,Jayke and Chloes' mum) she got me a coat for Shels from Petware. Its raincoat material on the outside and fleecy lined on the inside. Shels loves it and now takes her time outside, whilst leaving her mother shivering on the doorstep.
I personally think its a great idea and a nice way to show your pet that you care about them that you recognise that they to don't like to be wet and they feel the cold, dispite their fur coats.

Totally agree - Shari is a bed-bug and will even try to nose her dinner bowl up to her bed so she can eat lying down! I mean, it's real "peel-me-a-grape" stuff LOL. But she doesn't mind going out in the rain to do her business and doesn't take long, so all's well so far! Weatherbeeta and/or Zilco do some nice dog-covers too.

Hi Colcol

I had a look at some of the raincoats but ended up making one of my own, just used polar fleece material to line it and waterproof material for the outer part, couple of buckles here and there and it works a treat.
Only problem being that I have one coat and 2 GSDs! But its better than going through every towel in the house on a wet day!
