Some of you might remember a post I made a few months ago about a beautiful young GSD in Italy who was living in squalid conditions! A friend of mine lives in Italy for 6 months of a year and tries to help as many animals as she can. Parts of Italy have awful conditions for animals and dogs rank as third class so suffer terrible lives sometimes.
When my friend found Zara a couple of months ago she was terrified, could not be coaxed out of her cage, had severely fly blown ears, open weeping sores on her back, she was skinny and had nothing but slimy green stagnant water - if any water at all.
As you can Zara is a beautiful girl and being a GSD lover it breaks my heart to think what will happen to her when my friend comes back to NZ in a couple of months.
I've sent an Email to GSD Rescue (as an independent) in Italy and a breeder I found in Italy as well in the hope that they might be able to intervene to help this poor dog. I'd love to bring her back here but I have to be realistic as well - but you just never know who might read this post though - right?
