Hey all,

Just thought I would update on Miss Jess. Apart from being really busy this weekend with the Pet Expo, she has also been accepted to become a member of the Canine Friend Pet Therapy Association. This involves going to places like retirement homes, rest homes, possible hospital wings with children and the elderly.
I have added a couple of pictures of her in her snazzy red bandanna and also a couple of Shadow as she is settling in.
Time will tell how both her and Miss Jess will go together.

;)Well done little Miss Jess. Congrats to you to Angie.
Love the photos of them both. Looks like your Dad is loving his new little girl. Keep us up dates on the girls.

Angie, I am so proud of you, you took into your home to foster a scared, abused dog whose tail had been wrapped in duct tape, chewed by her to get it off to the point she did so much damage that her tail had to be amputated. She was unsure who was safe to be near and who wasn't. Her future looked very dim but a few angels down the line saw the good in her and helped get her through to us. When the time came for rehoming you could not let her go easily and you decided you were her forever home. Now she is so very calm and relaxed around people to the point she is now a therapy dog giving joy to many.

Honestly Ange Jess's story has to be one of the biggest successes we've had and really epitomises rescue! She really was rescued from an awful situation where her previous people (certainly not care givers!) had no idea what a little gem she was. I saw it in her the moment I laid eyes on her at the Christmas party 2 years ago and if my husband had clicked with her she would have been ours! But I believe in meant to be and Jess was definitely meant to be with you. She was so relaxed in the weekend - I hope someone got a photo of just howe relaxed she was!

To think what that poor wee girl had been through and yet now, although she has every reason to mistrust people she doesn't.
Yours really is a warm fduzzy story! This is why I love being involved with animals - we could learn so much from them

I did, I did, just got to download them from the camera, rather buggared last night and as I had trouble finding the shutter button during the day thought it best to wait until my brain was functioning. Will upload a most relaxed Jess and some other photos after work.... why didn't I put in for the day off.

Yes, she is my little star, that's for sure. I seriously would be lost without her now. She's my best friend and always will be.
We just have to wait for the confirmation of a venue to visit and then we can start. Even have myself a snazzy red badge, not as cool as Miss Jess' bandanna though lol.
Can't wait for the Christmas party this year, it will be our two year anniversary, yay me and Miss Jess.
And of course she was so spoilt over the weekend, I spent that much money on her lol. Definitely a lot more toys and a much better grooming brush.
Will update further once we've had our first visit and will let everyone know how she did.
May be able to sneak in my camera too!

Hey everyone,

Well Miss Jess and myself have our first Canine Friends visit this Sunday at Beachview Rest Home.
We will be meeting the manager there who apparently thinks it's absolutely wonderful that Jess will be visiting and is itching to meet her.
So we will see how she goes and how she reacts at the home (I'm sure she will be fantastic) and then we can visit every weekend or every second weekend.
Will keep you posted on her progress on Sunday.

It went really well. Unfortunately it is a VERY small rest home, with only 14 beds so the visit was extremely quick.
We are going to look at other ones in the area, and are in the process of contacting them.
Jess did really well, vocal as always and a couple of residents thought this to be quite amusing.

Angie so glad it all went well. I can just see the residents all have having a laugh. Good on them. Something to brighten their day up. Well done Miss Jess.
