I certainly approve of the removal of 'permanent foster' from your signature Angie.

Sorry Angie

Someone has to say it........

Bout bloody time smile

The day I took the photos of you and Miss Jess at the Devonport Dog Parade, I had to keep taking the photos , as the bond that was so obvious bewteen the two of you made the photos even better. There is one of you with a look on your face looking down at her, she is sitting at your feet totally fixated on your face.
She was then and certainly is now " your dog"

At least you and Col Col are not as bad as a certain Scotsman in Martinborough, who just seems to "collect" every GSD he sees....
Aye George smile

Congrats Angie and of course Lil Miss Jess

Oh God - Poor Andy - I felt dreadful - all I could do was sob down the phone to him! I think he knew then that Sharni wasn't about to board a south bound plane (did I ever thank you for being so kind and patient with me Andy!) And then when I did call later to tell him I'd signed Sharni's adoption papers - he was more worried about me crying again but said he kind of thought that would happen (that I'd keep Sharni). It's all part of rescue though - right? Besides this is about Angie and Jess now - not me (anymore)!

Whoops, I had already assumed you had adopted her and couldn't understand why we still had updates to the Jess The Foster dog thread - shows how up to date I am!!

There were two that almost didn't make it out of my door - Sarbee who only left cause he already had the home before he arrived at ours and Carlos, I ended up screaming and swearing at my husband to just take him with tears streaming down my face they day he left, but we just weren't in the financial position to have two dogs at that stage *sigh*

Whoever said washing an overexcited GSD was easy!
My flatmate worked from home today and I saw from the weather that outside was going to be quite icky, to say the least.
So I thought "oh good, no soggy doggy to come home to today as someone is there and they will be cuddled up indoors".
I was very much mistaken!
Apparently during the day Miss Jess will lounge out in the kennel....until it starts to rain. Then she will bound out and play in it! Which includes rolling in the mud!
So I came home to a very dirty, muddy dog. Well, bath time I thought to myself.
First time she has had a bath in the...well bath really. So here I am, filling it up, Miss Jess watching on thinking this is all very cool. (More water for her to play with!)
I had to lift her into the bath (boy, she's packed on the pounds since I first had her, that's for sure!)
Then she had a blast! I used the shower head nozzle as well, much easier to get rid of the soap from her coat. This is while she is trying to eat the water coming out of it of course. Even lifted her tail (or stub of) so I could get her little skirt pristine again.
Much cleaner now, she actually has the GSD coloring again! And of course four, almost five towels later and she is looking good.
So my back is killing me, but I have a clean, nice smelling dog again. (Until tomorrow probably).

Hi There,
I know its many years on now - but I was the SPCA inspector that seized Jesse and her pups from her home in Ngaruawhaia, and am so so happy to know that she is in her perfect home - she truely is a wonderful dog! It was a team effort from many people that I worked with to keep her alive, as the Haven manager was determined to euthanaise her as a 'power show' to the staff and against Veterinary and behaviourist advice. So we managed to sneak Jesse to another SPCA and foster her from there and then she moved on to you! I could only have done this as I had already decided morally to leave the SPCA - if not then I would have been fired anyway - but I know this was of course the right thing to do. I'm so glad that things have worked out - Jesse is a honey, and if poss I would love to see some more photos of her some time?? Thank you so much!

Miss Jess has definitely found her forever home. She is so spoilt here. My Dad has recently moved in with me and loves her too. I have hundreds of pictures of her, I usually put them on my facebook page

Definitely has the perfect home, Ang was her fostermum but as time went on and we worked Jess through the trauma of her past and settled her tail issue it was harder and harder for Ange to want to let go. We all knew she wouldn't as after the first couple of days it was apparent that there was a strong bond between the two of them. I know how hard you fought for her and a big thank you to you and the others involved for giving her the chance she so deserved.

Just thought I would post Miss Jess' photobucket album again. It has some new photos in there, and also ones I fiddled with.
