Man my blood is boiling, the low life that beat Rex 11 months ago was surpose to be sentenced on Monday, but his Queen council has found a Dr in Auckland that is saying the wee dog bit Rexs ear and not the piece wood did the damage.
Oh my god Rex and the 2 boys )that saved Rex )said the dog was in the corner of the section cowing with fear.
So this means the Police and other Dr have to go to court and convince the Judge that one of them is right.
So now we are waiting on a court date, which I was told could be up to a year.

I hate people that blame animals for there doing.

My blood is double boiling toots, not only that feeble excuse but the fact us tax payers are probably funding his ridiculous defence annoys the heck out of me

I would not get too worried about this and I will tell you why

The Job of the Queens Council is to dispute ALL the facts presented by the Prosecution.
The Prosecutions job is to present the facts and prove them, and disprove the theories set down by the defence.
It would not take much medical opinion to prove that there is one hell of a differance bewteen a dog bite and a piece of wood. IE: a bite no matter how old would show a jagged edge ( where the teeth have bitten in and made a mark), it would be a totally differant edge to that made by a piece of wood.

The QC is out to prove that his client ( the accused ) is the wronged party and that he is innocent of some or all of the charges.
IF the prosecution did not thing that they had an ice cubes chance in hell of their case failing them never would have persued it in the first place.

Rex would have been examined by a doctor after the assault and photos and very careful notes taken by the examining doctor for the Police, and they are merticulous with examinations for assault.

If he is a client of Legal Aid they will only put up with him changing lawyers so many times, and then they will say no more.
Just because his Counsel is a QC does not mean that he will get paid any extra fee, it would be the same as any higher tier lawyer

I have to ask though why is he using a QC, has he been charged with attempted manslaughter or murder. Normally a QC would not be used for a common assault

Remember Toots, all you need to do is go in there and tell the truth,

Good luck Rex, fingers crossed this scum bucket gets his comeupance

I'm with you Toots. I know it's frustrating, but Kate is right. The defence have to try everything they can (yes it seems unecessary and a waste of time and money), just keep to the truth, keep calm and trust that justice will prevail.

Yes it would save the tax payer alot of money and be less stressful on you and Rex if the cheeky blighter would act like a man and take responsibility for his actions.

All the best

Hey Toots, we are all behind you for moral support, just imagine all the rescue dog owners giving you a collective group hug every time you and Rex feel down.

I am so looking forward to seeing you again when you come up to the rescue dog Christmas Party as it is many years since I first met you at the training club in K Rd. Gosh 1993 was when I started there, ending up being the club secretary for 12 years. We will notice a difference in each other I am sure. You will also be able to meet the wonderful Mr Willy H again.
