Maybe me but I cannot see anything for the countdown clock.

Apologies if it's me being thick.

Hi Jez

Sounds like a good weekend planned! We were hoping to get up into the mountains and do some skiing but we have a norwest wind coming in (warm from OZ) so there will be gale force winds in the mountains and a nice balmy 18-20 degrees for us on Sun and poss Mon (not bad for end of Jan equiv!).

A glass of wine (or two) tonight with some girlfriends and a good laugh - a nice way to kick off the weekend!

Have a good one :-)

Hi Karen

Sounds great. Cannot wait to sample a good NZ weekend in the mountains ourselves.Only 13 months to wait now. Weather over here really good at the moment in the 20's so shouldn't complain

Have a fantastic time and not to much wine with the girlies.

Hi Jez

Those 13 months will zip by I'm sure! Glad to hear the good old British Summer is behaving itself and you are enjoying good weather.

Great time had with the girls on Friday....didn't drink too much - was still standing (ha ha).

Hope you've had a good weekend too.

Hi

Didn't get up to the mountains in the end as the wind was gale force. Many of the ski fields were closed - way to dangerous! They do on a sunny day look pretty spectacular - can see the Southern Alp range (well a chunk of it) from just round the road to us. I take our dogs for a walk everyday and never tire of the view :-)

PS. Gone past the age of getting legless, always too much to do the next day and when you have children the lie-ins go out the window!

Hi Karen,

Thats a shame about the weather, never mind there is always next weekend.

I think you are never to old for a good night out but I am with you on the lie-ins though. Our two boys are old enough now for the lie-ins themselves though, 19 and 15 so more of a problem getting them out of bed than them being up with the lark.

Good nights out yes but long lie-ins aren't possible with a 7 year old :-) Saying that we've always been very lucky she never gets up before 7am-7.30am! She's a very outdoors girl so we're on the go most of the time - she's a very good rugby player - well we are in the right country for it anyhow :-)

Hi Karen,

Sorry not replied for a while. I will send you my CV soon if you wouldn't mind forwarding it on. Hope you are all keeping well. Things moving at a pace with our holiday plans, tickets for the games well in hand and rough route sorted for our sight seeing. We have gathered a list of camper parks for both North and South Island but not sure whether to book up front or take a chance when we arrive, would be gratefull for your thoughts, considering that it will be quite busy for the camper sites at that time. The only problem we can see is that we do not want to be tied to firm plans, would rather have the freedom to stay extra time in places if we are enjoying our time there.

With regard to the skiing we have gone with your recommendation of Mt Hutt, so looking forward to that. My sister in law who is also coming on the trip fancies a helicopter ride over the glaciers and snow fields so again would welcome any of your good advice

Will soon be the weekend so hope you have made some good plans, unfortunately I am nights all this weekend so not so good for us.

Regards,

Jez..

Well Guys flights booked and paid for, campers booked and paid for so I guess that's it we are definitely coming to New Zealand.

Flight leaves London Heathrow on Sept 14th 2011 at approx 16:00 and we arrive in Christchurch on Friday 16th early morning for 3 wonderfull weeks of great rugby, sight seeing and of course some skiing (hopefully, snow dependant)

So just cannot wait now to bring over the family to see your wonderfull country. Maybe try and meet some of the friends from this forum site too.
