I am needing to rent a 1 or 2 bedroom unit or similar.
I am having to sell my own 2brm unit which is in a block of 4, at the rear with its own fully fenced rear yard.
I would like to find something similar and prefer not street fontage..
This will be just for myself and my gsd Kyla. Kyla is an inside/outside dog and is very respectful to her environment and doesn't destroy property.. The areas prefered is Panmure, Mt Wellington, Pakuranga, Glen Innes in Auckland, as i work in Panmure.
I would consider rent up to $350.00 pw plus also very happy to pay an extra dog bond as additional to the usual bond. I am hoping there will be a dog friendly property and landlord out there somewhere as I dont wish to give Kyla up.
I anticipate that I will need the property about September 2010 as I am waiting for my unit to go unconditional first and this may be a while?
Any help would be greatly apreciated.
I can be contacted in the first instance by email

Hi Bill, good to get the need out early, too many leave it until the last moment and run out of time. Here is hoping that there are dog friendly landlords reading our list who may be having vacating tennants coming up and will contact you.

Good luck with finding a place. Put your feelers out around the local letting agents, there are a few now that are becoming more "animal friendly"!!

Unfortunately our place is a little too big, in Massey and the current tenants have just extended their lease until Christmas.

Good luck Bill and Kyla, don't give up. We have been renting in Auckland now for 11 years and have always had a German Shepherd with us. Check with all the agents, put adds in the local papers.
Keep us up dated. You will find something.

Hey good luck with finding a rental!
I'm in the same boat - I own a 9 month old GSD, Tajah. We are off to Blenheim for 4 months shortly, but will be looking for an Auckland rental around Christmas time.
Preference is the Massey/West Auckland area (must be close to Whenuapai), anything is considered as I have to find a bunch of new flatmates anyway.
Andrea & Karly, you mentioned having something available around Christmas? If you could email me on flying_kettle@hotmail.com if you want to consider us, that would be awesome.

Cheers
Kate

Hey Kate

Talk to Glenn Savery at www.saverys.co.nz they property manage for us. The tenants have extended until Christmas, our preference would be to keep them on longer if possible, but if we can't then we will be looking for more tenants.

Glenn "tried" to talk us into being a pet friendly rental, however he needn't have bothered as we were happy to be anyway, so I know that where possible his listings will be pet friendly!!

Good luck

Good luck Bill, my daughter has 2 GSDs and when she goes looking for a place , always fenced, she says nothing of the dogs, but has reference from previous land laws.
Once she known she has the place she tells the owner of the house about the dogs and gives the previous reference, its never failed and 9 times out 10 the land law loves the dogs.
