As so many of your were so kind after Rex's attack last Sept thought I would update you all.

Rex is doing really well, he is just about really to hit the work force again.

He has changed in a way is hard for me and our 18 year grandauhter that live with us, is that he never use to raise his voice or snap over nothing, but Tanz and I are learning how to handle that.

Its just on 6 months since the attact and we have been to court 8 time with no joy.

Today another trip to Tauranga as it now in the high court, his mother and aunty told me out side the court they are victems and have had no help, gee I didnt need that, how ever out lawyer came along and took us into a room, thank god.
To Cut a long day short, his lawyer offered Rex on behalf of the guy, money for Rex to help mean things, the judge said that even if Mr McLeod accepted their offer it would not change any sentancing all really be told.
We didnt accept and he came back at NOT GUITY, so now it court by jury, what a bloody waste time and tax payers money.

I am so sorry that you & Rex are having to go through all this Toots. How on earth can they accept a not guilty plea when there were two witnesses. I will never understand the legal system as it only seems to work for the offenders. Hang in there you two, surely justice will be served eventually.

Oh well things do drag out, the guys lawyer and the crown lawyer went to court last thursday to make a date to get the jury together, and yes you are right its been put off till the end may ( not sure what year ).
The guy comes out jail mid may as he would have served his 4 months out of 8 months he got for bunching the cop.
So the fear comes in again in case I see him in town, it has been great the last 4 months not looking over my shoulder.
