We are looking for a two bedroom property that will allow a German Shepherd. This property must have a large storage area with carport or garage. We are looking at the areas of Blockhouse Bay and Mt. Albert with good bus routes to the city and price to be around the $300 per week mark.

We do not want to give our German Shepherd up. He has been a dear pal to us and brought a lot of happiness to our lives.

Please help!

Hi James

Don't give him up! There will be something available I'm sure. I know that some land agents do specifically market or handle pet-friendly rental properties (But I'm not sure which ones) - it may be worth ringing around some land agents and just asking the question (if you haven't already).

Try Savery's in West Auckland. They are managing our home and he said that he tries to talk all his clients into renting "pet-friendly" homes.

He may not have a place suitable on his books right now, but give him a call anyhow, you just never know what might be coming up!!

They are awesome to deal with too.

Good luck!!

Thanks for the tip for the hopeful renter Andrea. How was your BBQ with the wanna be constable plod. I am sure Karly provided the much needed GSD fix.

Beautiful day with beautiful weather, good food and even better wine + great company - I was a little unwell later in the day but well enough (thank goodness)to go to work the next day.
Karly did provide the GSD fix and we even neglected to do the vacuuming just so Constable Plod could see what she was missing!!

Good for you, you know how to make her feel at home. Did the 'even better wine' have anything to do with feeling of being a 'little unwell'

Unfortunately James aa was not able to find accommodation that was also suitable (or allowed) for his GSD. We have managed to find his GSD a new home subject to todays meeting going well. He is such a nice dog and has a lovely home to go to so fingers crossed folks that they like each other. No other animals to get used to and new owner is an early retired person so they can enjoy each other's company all day long. A sad outcome that he cannot stay with his current owner but a happy ending for him anyway. I think he will adapt better to the change than his owner who is very upset about having to find a new home for him.

Oh that really sucks for James frown I couldn't bear to have to give up Karly and now that she is ageing and reality is hitting home that I don't have her for much longer, my heart is heavy
