I recently moved up to Snells Beach and am living near Lifeway College, who run a "Boot Camp" (precursor to a Bible College course - "character-building" stuff, you know!). I have two boarders that run the PT part of the course and last night they announced they would be up at 3 o'clock this morning in order to wake everyone up at Boot Camp to do a long walk and run. I never heard them leave, but got woken up by the whole group jogging outside our house (on their way back up the road) at 6.47 a.m. Then my 3-year-old son woke up - he was quite happily sleeping in until 8.30 a.m. during the holidays!
I was wondering whether I was crazy or not, taking on such "unusual" boarders, when my son turned the TV on. "Best in Show" was on - and I was only half-watching it, as it was about some Poodles. Then, suddenly, I was wide awake and staring at Denise! Simon was meeting his little girl for the first time. There was Skye, Hogan and Maya larger than life and photos of Yani - right before my eyes! What an emotional program that was to watch! Maya was just a pup! The footage was filmed when there were around 211 (can't remember exact number) dogs rescued. Dudley is #511 and GSRT has kept up this amazing work totally unwaveringly, with all the tragedies it involves. I guess the elation of saving a life from the blue juice, or a lifetime of abuse/neglect and the satisfaction of matching dog to new forever home, must outweigh all the tragedies! Thanks for keeping on going through it all, Denise and Team! We appreciate you!
