Low fare airline Pacific Blue started its trans-Tasman service from Dunedin on the 3rd September 2009.

Virgin Blue chief executive Brett Godfrey said the first flight from Brisbane was due to land at 3.25pm and would take off for the return leg at 4.30pm.

The service would be offered three times a week.
