Dunedin's top 10 things to do (in no particular order):
* Chomp into a steaming pork roll at the Saturday morning farmer's market at Dunedin railway station.
* Take a photo of the railway station, one of the best-known buildings on the South Island and recognised by DK Eyewitness Travel as one of "The World's 200 Must-See Places".
* Cheer on the rugby while downing a beer at Speights Ale House, Dunedin's most lively bar.
* Eat haggis. (Go on, I dare you). Zest Food Tours can take care of all your haggis and other fine sampling needs.
* Stare down the main stairwell at Lanarch Castle and think what it would be like to fall.
* Walk up Baldwin Street, the world's steepest.
* Try to walk down Baldwin Street without breaking into a run – impossible!
* Make a snowman outside Lanarch Castle – pray it snows while you're there.
* Send your prayer from the First Church, a block from the city centre, and with a spire that points straight to heaven.
