See todays Stuff.co.nz story on dog found hanging from cieling.

A beautiful 5 month old GSD has been found in Warkworth with a broken leg and pelvic injuries after being hung from a garage cieling and left to die.
This story has sickened me - vets are to decide if she will be put down or not Monday. SPCA will need 4k to pay for her op.
READ the article. Look at her- iif any dog deserved a chance its her!
Can we all get together and support SPCA on this one- any ideas may help? Have we got a surgical vet who could donate services to help?
Oh , and the word is out - whoever did this is had better be very worried indeed.

Angry Swampthing.

Here's the link to the article. People that abuse animals should have it done to them & see how they like it. It makes me so angry.

I presume they mean the Mangere SPCA who fortunately do have vets on staff and monetary resources from many people who donate to them on a regular basis so hopefully treatment will be on hand for this poor wee dog and her care won't be dependent on a public donation drive.

I cannot understand how the owner was unaware of the dogs absence. Too many questions, and whoever did this is a sickening deprivate who most likely will go scott free on this or if caught will get a slap onthe wrist with a wet tissue.

animal cruelty penalties need to be tougher and NZ should have what the US has, Animal Cops with full police powers.

What a beautiful face "Polly" has. A very forgiving GSD I would say. I won't comment about the slimebag(s) that inflicted the treatment, hopefully they have returned to the sewers from whence they came!! How about if all GSD owners/dog lovers donated say $10.00 each, there may be sufficient to pay for the care she needs! Denise, would it be possible to maybe set up a special account for this thru the GSD Rescue. After all, $10.00 is not a huge amount for each to contribute (or even $5.00), and it soon mounts up. AND if there was the possiblity of the costs being paid for, then, just maybe, more consideration would be given to continuing her treatment and saving her! Just a thought.

Dalmac, Matamata

Wasn't there almost the exact same thing on the other night about a kitten?

Haven't heard about the kitten, but these days, nothing would surprise me! What I've seen kids/teenagers do to animals lately, is absolutely beyond description (and it's not only the "young people"). I find it hard to accept that it's "humans" that do these dreadful things. What is the problem with some "so called humans". Society today!!!!

Dalmac,

Yes we could do a collective donation and send it as one payment via GSD Rescue like we did with Cida's owner's mum who was so tragically killed. Along with the donation we make I will add a list of names and areas of who donated. Let me know what you think about that.

One of the people who found her had a thread up on trade me, there have been a couple more threads about it since then. From what was initially posted of what the owner was observed doing it's possible he knows more than he's letting on.

I'd like to donate - let me know when
