Dunedin is getting set for the most indulgent week on its events calendar, the Cadbury Chocolate Carnival, 12-18JUL.
The Cadbury Jaffa Race will be held down the world’s steepest street, Baldwin Street, with a record 30,000 Cadbury Jaffas rolled down the hill with thousands of dollars raised for charity.
Returning to the Chocolate Carnival this year is the magnificent 7.3 metre high Cadbury Climbing Wall in the lower Octagon, while the Otago Museum makes the most of its new tropical butterfly house and invites Carnival Goers to create colourful ‘Chocolate Tropical Butterflies’ throughout the week. Those with a creative edge will enjoy ‘Crazy Creative Cadbury Costumes’ at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery while others can mix a bit of science and chocolate in the Otago Museum’s ‘Freaky Science: The Crazy World of Chocolate’.
Other highlights include Glenfalloch’s Gnaughty Gnomes and Fabulous Fairies Party, the Cadbury Corporate Curling and Golf Day, Choc-Art of Creativity Classes, a Chocolate, Jazz and Shiraz evening at Cargills Restaurant, and Larnach Castle’s Annual Winter Ball.
