Devil Facial Tumour Disease (DFTD) is a fatal condition in Tasmanian devils, characterised by cancers around the mouth and head and as of November 2007, the Tasmanian devil disease had been confirmed at 60 different locations across 59% of Tasmania's mainland.
Once the cancer becomes visible, it always appears to be fatal - usually within several months.
The fight to save the Tasmanian devil is collaboration between the Tasmanian Government, the University of Tasmania and other research institutions, schools, individuals and the corporate community, however a growing number of supporters are taking the initiative to raise money and support the Tasmanian Devil Appeal.
We want to help save this unique Tasmania wildlife icon, so when you hire a rental vehicle from us we will donate $1.00 towards the Save The Tasmanian Devil fund.
