I phoned to wish Jim and Martha a very MERRY CHRISTMAS! but their phone number was disconnected and there are no new listings for their name. Jim and Martha, if you're reading this message, even from another country, I would like you to know we often think about you and your generosity and Dudley in particular was pleased he didn't have to go back in a crate to be flown up to Auckland. I was phoning to invite you to see Dudley again now that he's put on some weight and has settled into our family, so if you are still in NZ, please be in touch.
For those of you new to GSRT, Jim and Martha are the wonderful couple who drove all the way down (from Auckland) to Wellington to bring Dudley up to Auckland for us to adopt. Dudley slept peacefully on the backseat of their air-conditioned car in absolute luxury! They used the excuse that they wanted to see more of New Zealand and they went down to Wellington via some friends in Napier. For those of us who couldn't wait one minute longer to meet Dudley, e.g. me and my family, Denise (Dudley's Aunty - Hogan is his brother) and Liz, there were frequent updates as to where Jim and Martha were on their trip up. This meant that the whole "GSRT adopters family" had regular "Yahoo" updates as well and Andrea and Kate could join in the excitement.
Jim and Martha met up with Denise and Liz on the North Shore, who brought Dudley up to us in Stillwater. The moment Dudley jumped out of Denise's ute, we knew we weren't going to be letting Denise take him away again! I agree with what David said when Denise asked him what he thought of Dudley at whatever unearthly hour it was in the evening after she'd dropped him off - "he's exceeded my expectations!"
Merry Christmas, Jim and Martha!
Alison, Dudley #511, Chloe, David, Heidi and Franz
