This girl, age ? 3-5 years. Speyed, microchipped - but number not recorded, was found mid North Island and held in pound. No one claimed her. She is now in care. It is obvious she has been someone's pet. She is in too good a physical condition to have been on the road long. She is excellent with children, gets on with other dogs in foster home. She could have come from anywhere. She loves the car. ? hitched a ride, ? stolen and dumped. How I wish they could talk. Her owner would have record of microchip which will prove ownership. If you know of someone who has lost a GSD in the last 2-3 weeks, or even longer, please ask them to look at "Jess's" photo.

Stupid question but presume you have checked for a Tattoo.

Also, why are we now microchipped if numbers are not recorded, I thought they were on a local or Aussie/NZ wide database. Seem to recall paying a bit extra for the Aussie NZ wide database. Is there anyway to trace what area/vet that number was allocated to?

Hi Teddy Girl, We have been to the microchip suppliers to see what facility/clinic they issued that particular batch of numbers to but there are a few that supply so we are still searching that avenue. The Australian data base has been searched, the NZ register newly set up has been searched. Things fall through when the paper work is not send in or gets lost in the mail - whatever. I would have thought somewhere we would arrive at an open door. I wanted to get her picture up and have this side started while we continue to look. There is no tattoo.

Hi Froggy I sent you a reply. The dog you sent me looks nothing like our Jess. Jess is black and tan, the one you sent through is a sable. Collar colour also different - but that doesn't mean anything as collars can be replaced. Totally different looking dog.

We have exhausted all avenues to check for this dog's possible owner and she is now being adopted to a person on our waiting list. She is one of the dogs needing transport.
