The main street of Dunedin is George Street which ends at "The Octagon", an octagonal road structure in the centre of the city, which then continues as Princes Street.

Many attractions can be seen in the central city region, including the Museum, Botanic Gardens, Speights Brewery, the University of Otago and Art gallery, as well as Dunedin Casino and the Early Settlers Museum.

Further around the city you will find the magnificent Larnach Castle (New Zealand’s only castle), Moana pool, and Baldwin Street (the world’s steepest street). But just about everywhere you go in this region you will find fantastic examples of early New Zealand architecture, such as the Railway station, The First Church, public buildings and the many gracious homes that still abound.
