The 2002/2003 Royal Albatross breeding season is off to a great start. We have just finished our meeting with Lyndon Perriman from the Department of Conservation, who has informed us that there are 88 birds back so far this season and that we have 11 nests on our side of the headland. 6 of these are in excellent viewing. Altogether there are 31 nests in the colony, so viewing of Albatross this season is going to be the best ever.Apart from the nesting albatross we have a lot of non-breeding birds already back and giving us wonderful flying displays
Our centre opens at 8.30am with the first tour at 9.00am and then half hourly until 7.00pm. Bookings are essential.
An exciting development at the centre is the upgrading of our cafe.We have employed an international chef who has developed an exciting breakfast and evening meal menu.We will be open for breakfast from 8.30am until 11.00am and then the all day menu will continue until 8.30pm. Evening meals range in price from $10.50 to $18.50. The usual range of cafe food will also be available
