Fox Glacier township is a tranquil gateway to some of the South Island's most stunning scenery, however many people don't realise that there is more to the township of Fox than just the mighty Fox Glacier!
Riverstone Bed & Breakfast is more than happy to assist with local visitor activities and attractions for their guests so make sure you have a chat to them about some of these Fox Glacier highlights on your next visit.
Lake Paringa
Experienced or novice anglers can test their fishing skills (and patience) against the crafty local trout and landlocked salmon.
Lake Matheson
I fell in love with this part of the world on a recent visit. I went early in the morning while the dew was still sparkling like tiny gems on the native fauna, my guide along this easy walking round trip was a little Fantail and the only sounds throughout the forest was from the native bird life. The lakes claim to fame is the incredible mirror reflections of Mt Tasman and surrounding peaks that can be viewed on clear, calm days. The lake is only 5 minutes from Fox township and is a lovely walk which I highly recommend!
Glow Worms
A night in Fox isn't complete without a trip into a leafy grotto to enjoy the mystical experience of seeing Glow Worms.
Adventure sports lovers have a smorgasbord on offer, from kayaking, parachuting, mountain biking, ice climbing, helicopter flights and heli ski-ing to name just a few!
