New Zealand's Information Network is a strong advocator for providing Website online customer service. We believe that customer service should start well before a customer walks through the door, it should start the moment a potential customer (or client) visits a Website!
Our Website Audit team independently assesses the Websites displayed within our Category Listing directory. Each site is individually rated using our unique rating criteria before the site is included as a Category Listing within our Network.
The NZIN rating system assesses each site before grading from 1 - 10 bars (1 bar being the lowest score).
Many aspects of each individual Website determine bar ratings, and while these ratings are simply the opinion of New Zealand's Information Network, we try and put ourselves in the ‘visitors shoes’ (or should that be eyes?). When our audit team visits a site, the assessment is based on the overall Website, the online experience and customer service.
Below is a brief guideline to what our audit team looks for when rating each individual site.
Website Layout and Design
- Is the homepage attractive and does it make me want to explore the site further?
- The site layout is clear and uncluttered with no missing or broken links?
- Is there any unnecessary animation, sound clips, pop ups, etc?
- Is the basic format of each page consistent?
- Is it easy to navigate around the Website and is information easy to find?
- Do pages download quickly?
- Is the text size (font) easy to read?
- Can I quickly understand what content and information is available on the site?
- Do the links match the titles of the pages to which they refer?
- Is the Website designed and hosted within our Network?
- Can you search the site for information?
Website Content
- Is the content relevant, informative and helpful?
- Does the site provide additional information that may be of interest to the visitor?
- Does the site contain interactivity such as Feedback and Contact Us forms?
- Does the information seem to be up-to-date?
- Is the content appropriate to the mission of the Website?
- Is there a Frequently Asked Questions page?
Official Memberships, Tourism Ratings, Endorsements & Awards
- Does the company have a Qualmark Rating or Qualmark Endorsement, if so, is it displayed clearly on the Website?
- Is there any official awards, memberships or accreditation’s on display or mentioned within the site?
Online Customer Service
- Prompt reply to general emails in a clear and concise manner?
- Is the company contact information clearly displayed online?
- Is there an online enquiry and/or quote form available?
- Can I pay online using secure credit card payment facilities within the site?
- Online booking confirmations are responded to within 24 hours?
- Can I easily find the business? Do they provide an online map or directions?
- Does the Website offer additional customer services such as Live Support?
