Q. What is the maximum age for applying for residency via the Skilled Migrant Category?
A.
The NZIS Website states, "You need to be aged from 20-55 (inclusive)."

Q. How long will it take for my pack to arrive?
A.
We have sourced numerous options for international delivery of our personalised Immigration Packs. It is vital to us that your documentation delivery be treated with high importance therefore we have provided you with a choice of professional international delivery systems. These options are available when you order your pack online. The cost of international postage is incorporated into the cost of the pack.

Q. Are you able to provide immigration advice to us regarding our application or advice on filling out the forms?
A.
If you post your question in the Message Board we will search the information you require via the NZIS online resources and quote directly from the official, legal source in answer to your question.

Q. We are going to use an immigration adviser to act on our behalf, can we use the forms provided in your Immigration Packs?
A.
The NZIS online resources states: "People intending to submit an application to Immigration New Zealand after 4 May 2009, who choose to have an immigration adviser acting on their behalf, must supply their adviser’s details. They can do this in two ways.

  • Using a March 2009 version of the form, complete the adviser details section of the form. Assuming the adviser is not unlicensed and that the application meets all other mandatory lodgement requirements, the application should be accepted for assessment.
  • If an applicant submits an old form (dated before March 2009), we will put the application on hold at lodgement stage while we seek the immigration adviser’s details.

Q. Q. What is the Immigration Advisers Licensing Act?
A.
NZIS online resources state: "From 4 May 2009, the Immigration Advisers Licensing Act 2007 requires that anyone who provides immigration advice in New Zealand must have a licence from the Immigration Advisers Authority, unless they are exempt from the requirement to hold a licence. From 4 May 2010, offshore advisers giving advice to people seeking visas or permits will also have to be licensed.

From 4 May 2009, Immigration New Zealand will refuse to accept applications from unlicensed onshore advisers. If an onshore adviser acting on behalf of an immigration client is not on the Register of licensed advisers (or not exempt), their application will be returned failed lodgement, and we will advise the Registrar of the Immigration Advisers Authority. Advisers who are awaiting a licensing decision from the Registrar are considered unlicensed.

A.
The Principal Applicant must be aged 54 years or younger to apply.

Q. What is the time in New Zealand?

New Zealand is the first country to see each new day. Visit our Contact Us page to see what the time is right now in New Zealand.

Q. What is an IELTS?
A.
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an internationally recognised English language assessment. A recent test from the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) can be used as proof that you meet the English requirements set by the New Zealand Immigration Service.

Q. My qualifications require assessment by the NZQA, who is the NZQA?
A.
NZQA stands for New Zealand Qualifications Authority. The New Zealand Government Residence Policy requires some immigrant’s qualifications under the Skilled Migrant Category to be assessed as part of their application. This is done by the NZQA.

Q. What is the Skilled Migrant Category?
A.
The NZIS states, "The Skilled Migrant Category is the main path to residence in New Zealand. It is designed to make sure that people migrating to New Zealand have the skills the country needs. This category works on a points system. Points are earned on the basis of your qualifications, work experience and job, or job offer, in New Zealand."

Under the Skilled Migrant Category, people must first submit an Expression of Interest in applying for residence, using the official Expression of Interest form which is included in your personalized NZ Immigration Pack.

Q. What is the difference between a Visa and a Permit?
A.
A permit endorsement in your passport allows you to be in New Zealand while a Visa is an endorsement in your passport that allows you to enter (or re-enter) New Zealand.

Q. What is New Zealand Citizenship and when can I apply for that?
A.
Citizenship and Residency are quite different. As a resident you retain your country's citizenship, after you have resided in New Zealand for a certain number of years you may apply for New Zealand citizenship.

Q. What Is Your Refund Policy?
A.
Because each NZ Immigration Pack is personalized to meet your requirements and the costs incurred with international couriers, once you have received confirmation of your order (normally within 24 hours) we operate strictly on a No Refund Policy.

Q. Are my personal details safe with your company?
A.
NZ Immigration Packs will NOT solicit your email addresses or any other details you provide to us with any other persons and/or companies.

Q. Why do I have to supply my credit card billing address?
A.
NZ Immigration Packs are strong advocates for the prevention of credit card fraud. All credit card details including your billing address are checked to verify authenticity. This makes a stolen credit card or number worthless to a thief if they don’t know your billing address.

Q. Is my credit card information safe?
A.
By clicking into our Order Page you enter a secure order form. This means that any data you provide will be encrypted by our secure server, meaning only OUR server can read your details. Encryption results in the information you provide being scrambled in such a way that only our server can read it.

Our company uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) which is the leading industry standard for processing a secure transaction over the internet.

Q. How can I tell if your Order Page is secure?
A.
You can check to see if a document on your browser is from a secure server by checking the status of the security icon provided by your browser. For example, in Microsoft Internet Explorer a ‘padlock’ icon is shown while Netscape Navigator uses an icon in the lower left corner of the window which appears as a solid ‘key’ symbol.

Q. The NZIS have advised me that I need a job offer to meet the requirements for residency. Can you help?
A.
Our NZ Employment Pack is designed for those wanting to find suitable employment in New Zealand. Loaded with plenty of specialist contacts for recruitment companies, job websites and books on writing a CV for the New Zealand market... this pack is a great place to start your search for Kiwi employment.

Q. Our application for residency has been approved and we have decided on what area of New Zealand we would like to live. How do we go about finding more information about where we want to live and general life in New Zealand?
A.
Please check our Pre-Arrival Pack as this is designed specifically for you! We personalise each pack to include information you want, such as guides for certain places you want to live, schooling, health care, buying a house or anything else you might want to know about.

Q. How long will it take Immigration New Zealand to process my visa or permit application?
A.
This answer is provided directly from the official NZIS online list of most common immigration-related questions:

The time it will take for us to process your application can vary depending on:

  • the requirements of the immigration policy you are applying under
  • the completeness of your application
  • how easily we can check the information you provide
  • how well and how quickly you respond to any concerns we raise with you.

Processing times can also vary between offices. When we accept your application, we will either give you a decision, or tell you within 14 days, how long the processing time is predicted to be.

The amount of verification your application requires can affect the amount of time it takes to process your application. Applications that require the most verification; for example work permit or residence applications, typically take the longest to process. We may find that you need to provide us with further information before we can make a decision on your application, which will also add to the processing time.

Q. Do I need to have a licensed immigration adviser complete my application for immigration?
A.
No. Legally you can complete and submit your own application to the NZIS, which is what our packs are designed for. Our clients use all the helpful tools provided by the New Zealand Immigration Service (in their pack) to self-assess and submit their own application.

Q. The NZIS Website if very difficult to navigate and I can't find the information I want. Can you help?
A.
Yes we can. "The NZIS online resources advises "Immigration advice is not providing information that is publicly available or that is prepared or made available by the Department of Labour..." This means we can 'cut and paste' from the NZIS Website the relevant information you require and post in the Message Board.

Q. If I use a licensed immigration adviser, will my application be prioritised by INZ?
A.
The NZIS states: "No. Applications from licensed advisers are treated the same as any other application."
