SHOP & SERVICES
The Hurunui provides visitors with the convenience of modern shops and services that offer everything, from fashion stores to petrol stations. Most townships and villages have several supermarkets or a convenience store, fast food outlets, gas station and local information services. Medical services are also available throughout the Hurunui district.
The Hurunui Visitor Centre is located in Hanmer Springs and is open 7 days a week to assist with all local bookings and visitor information. Other services in the region include retail shopping, real estate, viticulture, conferences, farming advice and equipment, vehicle repairs, restaurants, cafes, bars, supermarkets, legal advice and more. |
The Hurunui District Council is open during normal office hours and can assist with local information and advice. Council service centres can be found in Amberley, Culverden and Cheviot.
