Glenmac Farmstay - Backpackers HostelWelcome to The Backpackers Cottage at Glenmac Farm.

The Backpackers Cottage has beds for nine guests and provides clean, warm and comfortable budget farm style accommodation. All linen is supplied and the shared TV lounge and full kitchen facilities provide wonderful opportunities to meet other interesting people from all around New Zealand and the world!

Glenmac Farmstay - Backpackers HostelIf you don’t feel like cooking, for a minimal cost, you can join the family for a hearty evening farm meal!

The spacious shared living area is the perfect place to relax after a day of exciting outdoor activities, unwind with a magazine, watch some television, play cards or challenge someone to a game of table tennis or darts.

Perfect year round accommodation is provided. Summer visitors can escape into the relative coolness of the backpacker lodgings while winter guests can ward off any chilly nights with the gas heater and spare blankets.

Other facilities include laundry and 24 hour access to the lodgings.

Bedroom layouts are as follows:

  • One single bedroom
  • Two twin bedrooms
  • One double bedroom
  • One Room - sleep 4 (2 single beds, one set bunks)

Backpacker Hostel Rates: (Prices are in New Zealand Currency)

  • Backpackers from $25.00 per person, per night (linen supplied)

How to get to Glenmac.

  1. The Magic Bus will drop off and pick up at Glenmac Farm
  2. By prior arrangement, Arthurs Tours, leaves Dunedin daily and will drop off and pick up at Glenmac Farm. This service travels from Dunedin to Mt Cook and vice versa.
  3. Take public transport to Oamaru and we will do our best to arrange travel options from there.
  4. By car or bike. If biking, call us ahead and we will meet you at end of road.
